I'm really surprised to see that much lower of a number when I haven't been able to exercise as much. But I've been very particular about food this week. It's a lovely surprise.
Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better, too!
Congrats, N!!!
ReplyDeleteCalories/eating trumps exercise. Every time. I exercised consistently for years before I could actually lose weight. So, when it comes down, the calories are priority to lose. Cosnistently. Exercise adds all sorts of benefits as an adjunct, and becomes more important the smaller you get and the caloric deficit is harder to achiever (trust me!). Exercise is the elixir of youth, helps the body repair, improves insulin sensitivity, lower blood pressure, depending on the type of exercise, can actually help cells repair themselves.
Importantly for those of us who need to lose al ot, exercise builds the infrastructure. The LAST thing a person losing 80, 90, 100, 200 pounds wants is to have loose,c rnkly skin hanging off bones. YOU NEED to have the architecture to help with the LOOK of the body when the skin no longer snaps back. I've seen women who lost without exercising and those who lost with, and trust me, huge difference. Muscle makes for a more attractive and supportive architectuer. The sag looks less bad with it. The loose skin loose much worse and distressing without it.
Happy Birthday, and may your next birthday see you 100 pounds lighter and many muscle fibers stronger. Keep doing great. Keep going!
Hope you are feeling better....Mir's post above is so good that all I'm adding is ditto.
