All Talk

NOT!   So I was watching the A&E channel show "Heavy" on netflix last night. It got me thinking, nothing bad happened to these people by working out every day. There are fat people (same size as me) running. Stop making stupid excuses and DO SOMETHING EVERY DAY THIS WEEK. I have to drop some weight this week in order to satiate my own expectations... I have to end this challenge with a bang. I will be free of this area on the scale.

So I started today. It took me 2 hours to get my ass out of the house (easily distracted). But I got a 5k hike/walk (very hilly, but paved trail). The end of the trail spits you out by a grave yard. I had my ipod with me and I just decided that yeah... I was going to run. So I pulled up the running app thingy and did my first interval run in MONTHS. 5k + 8x(1min run, 1.5 min walk).

I have some post its on the back of my door with times and work outs. This week. I resolve to do the daily warm up every morning, regardless of whether or not I'm going directly into a work out. Just get the body up and moving.  Then off to start the day. If anything it reminds me of all the moving parts. I don't usually think about things like warming up my hip flexors or shoulder rotators... It just seems like a smart thing to start integrating ON MY OWN... (trying to be independent here, can't afford a trainer when I move).

My ideas for this week's fitness keep morphing... so just roll with me here. :)

The post-its look like this...

  1. Great work on running. Good for you!!

Thanks for sharing the videos - these look like something I would actually do - but not in the morning - 445 am is early enough...but I could see doing them on weekend mornings or after work.

  2. I used to hate working out and even though it's better now, I still don't really enjoy it. Don't beat yourself up if you can't do all that, because that's some serious planning, just aim to get into the habit of doing something you don't want to and it will start to become more of a habit.
20 mins of interval bodyrock-style working out will do wonders for you and is easy to fit in to start with. :)

    1. I don't hate working out... I just hate getting ready for it.

A- I hate wearing clothing, so any time I leave the house it's a motivational speech to get pants on
B - . The anticipation is bleh... but once I start, I really quite enjoy myself.

Though with the running bit, I have to keep giving myself things like "make it to that pole on this interval" to keep myself going and not counting my steps.

  3. Wow, you are definitely kicking it up a notch!

  4. You inspire us all to move our butts more!

  5. I was watching TLC's My 600 lb life and I was so inspired by their story. I love taking what I see on TV to motivate me in real life. Good for you for feeling inspired and doing something about it!

    Have a lovely weekend!

  6. You inspire me too! I just did my first outside run last week - did most of my C25K work on the treadmill, which I hear is a lot easier than outside. Big props for taking the harder option, and pushing yourself! I'll have to check out some of those sites you posted before - I am always looking for new things to do that qualify as workouts. Today I'm going to ride the exercise bike and read a magazine!

    1. Harder option... eh... Noble. I just don't have access to a treadmill. I would love to know how fast and far I'm going. It's hard to track when I'm not really following a pattern or road. heh.

      Rock that exercise bike! :)

  7. Is it a good thing if when I hear the word "Plank" it strikes fear into my heart? haha. Actually, the word "Burpees" or the words "Mountain Climbers" strike even more fear in me. But it's a good fear. Nice on the running! Once the weather cooperates here, I'm also starting my interval running program. Fun stuff! Kick Arse lady!

    1. oh come on chrissypoo... It's just planks, burpees and mountain climbers. You can feel the fear if you're willing to punch it in the face! :) Where are your posts these days mister? Much love.

  8. I have heard soooo many good things about that show. Congrats on your run! That is huge. Love the *kick-my-own-butt* attitude.

  9. I loved Heavy. I so wish it were still on TV. They were so inspirational, and you didn't have to worry about being kicked off. I liked it.

  10. Thanks for the tip on "Heavy". I'll have to check it out. Thanks for making me smile! You're right if they can do so can we!
    Have a great week!

  11. Well done for getting moving! You've got a good exercise plan set up -- go for it! :)

  12. I love your fiery spirit. This post has inspired me to use the Couch to 5K app the next time I'm on the treadmill.

Just from reading this post, I'm dying to know how you've lost weight in the past and how you will do it throughout this challenge. Consider me a fan. :)

  13. Love the exercise goals and Zuz!! Too bad she had to leave but she branched out and does her own thing now.

Sounds like you got the motivation to make week 2 a success!
